Melody Friedman

Melody believes our bodies tell our stories, revealing truth when we listen. Yoga helps us connect to our bodies through movement and breath, creating space in both body and mind. For Melody, yoga calms anxiety, boosts mood and energy, and fosters growth on and off the mat.

Melody has practiced and taught various styles of yoga, including Ashtanga, Vinyasa, Forrest Yoga and trauma-conscious classes for veterans and first responders. With over 25 years of experience, she’s taught on military installations, ships, gyms, studios and in the great outdoors. Her credentials include a BA in Language Studies and multiple yoga and group fitness certifications.

Originally from the Gulf Coast of South Texas, Melody transitioned from active duty in San Diego after serving in the US Navy during Desert Storm. She currently works as a case manager for disabled veterans with the Veterans Administration.

Melody and her husband recently celebrated 25 years of marriage. They’re empty nesters living in Oceanside with their two pugs, Duke and Earl. She enjoys reading, beach outings, hiking, Stand Up Paddleboarding, gardening and spending time with loved ones.
